WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – A turnover in the Broncs' defensive end near the outset of the second overtime resulted in the golden goal for Monmouth as the Rider University men's soccer team fell to the Hawks, 1-0, in the league opener for both teams Wednesday night on Hesse Field on The Great Lawn. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 3-4-1 (0-1-0 MAAC), while the Hawks are now 3-3-2 (1-0-0 MAAC).

Liam McGregor and Sebastian Rodriguez connected passes into the left side of the box, where Griffin Tomas finished with his left foot with a Rider defender on his hip, beating Broncs' goalkeeper
Guillaume Veinante (Bayonne, France/Faculte des métier de Rennes) inside the far post for the game winner.
