Men's Soccer Cruises Past CCSU, 4-1

Four different Broncs score

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Four different Rider University men's soccer student-athletes scored as the Broncs cruised to a 4-1 win over Central Connecticut State University in their home opener Thursday night on Ben Cohen Field. With the win, the Broncs even their record at 1-1-1, while the Blue Devils fall to 0-2-0.

The Blue Devils scored first in the 24th minute as Austin Rocke controlled along the goal line and fed in front for Erik Hjersson. But the Broncs settled down and took control in the final minutes of the half, scoring twice. Guillaume Sarrabayrouse's (Toulouse, France/Pierre Paul Riquet) shot was deflected and then knocked off the left post before Regis Dulck (Ostwald, France/Lycee Jean Monnet Strasbourg) beat CCSU goalkeeper Jason Dubrovich with the rebound in the 38th minute. Four and a half minutes later, Adel Al-Masude (Brussels, Belgium) curled a free kick just outside the box over the CCSU wall and inside the left post for a 2-1 Rider lead at the half.

The Broncs' momentum carried into the second half as Sergio Aguinaga (Madrid, Spain/Antonio Dominguez Ortiz) snuck a free kick across the box, through the defense and inside the left post for a 3-1 lead. Rider capped the scoring in the 74th minute, with Zaki Alibou (Meknes, Morocco/Meknes) weaving through the defense for his second goal in as many games.
