TOWSON, MD – The Rider University field hockey team got a pair of goals from
Julia Divorra (Terrassa, Spain/Vedruna Vall), including the game winner in overtime, topping Towson, 3-2, Sunday afternoon. The win improves the Broncs to 5-1 on the season, while the Tigers drop to 0-5.
It was the Tigers taking the early lead, scoring off a rebound just under two minutes into the game. Both teams had chances, but could not find the cage again in the opening half.
In the third, the Broncs took advantage of a penalty corner with
Josefina Golppi (Santiago, Chile/Universidad Catolica) scoring off a feed from
Kiki van Ommeren (Amsterdam, Netherlands/Montessori Lyceum Amsterdam). Divorra followed with a goal that gave the Broncs a lead.
Midway through the fourth, the Tigers tied the game scoring off a deflected shot to send the game to overtime and set up Divorra's heroics.

- Golppi's goal was the first of her collegiate career.
