PHILADELPHIA –
Zaki Alibou (Meknes, Morocco/Meknes) and
Guillermo Pavia Vidal (Madrid, Spain/La Salle Sagrado Corazon) each scored goals, but the Rider University men's soccer team fell at La Salle Saturday night. With the loss, the Broncs slip to 1-3-1, while the Explorers improve to 2-3-0.
Alibou scored the first half's lone goal, taking the ball down the left sideline before shooting at a very difficult angle to beat La Salle keeper Carlos Mora in the 29
th minute.
The Explorers scored two quick goals in the 51
st and 55
th minutes to take the lead early in the second. Sam Decencio scored the first goal, before Junior Nare gave the Explorers their first lead.
Pavia Vidal scored another unassisted Rider goal at the 65-minute mark to equalize. However, La Salle had the quick response just over two minutes later, when Franc Gamiz Quer scored what proved to be the game winner at the 67:14 mark. For good measure, the Explorers tacked on another Andrew Weir goal in the 87
th minute to account for the final 4-2 margin.
