Field Hockey Relies on Late Goal in Win over Colgate

Julia Divorra scored the game-winning goal with just 1:24 remaining.

HAMILTON, NY – Tess van Ommeren (Amsterdam, Netharlands/Sint Nicolaas Lyceum) set up Julia Divorra (Terrassa, Spain/Vedruna Vall) for a goal with 1:24 remaining in the fourth quarter, breaking a 1-1 tie to give the Broncs a victory at Colgate Sunday afternoon. The Broncs improve to 2-0 with the victory, sending the Raiders to 0-2.

The Broncs struck first, scoring just over three minutes into the game when Carly Brosious (Drexel Hill, PA/Monsignor Bonner [Archbishop Prendergast]) found Abby Hartwell (Monroeville, NJ/Delsea) to give Rider the early lead. The Broncs held that lead through the end of the third quarter.

Early in the fourth, Ella Murphy found the equalizer for Colgate, scoring to tie the game at one and set up Divorra's heroics.
