- The Rider University wrestling team hosts Drexel on Senior Night Thursday on ESPN3.

- The Broncs are 3-1, having fallen at Binghamton on Jan. 9, before earning three-straight wins at Clarion, against George Mason and at then-No. 25 Lehigh.

Ethan Laird was named MAC Co-Wrestler of the Week after earning an 8-5 decision over then-No. 5 Jordan Wood at heavyweight. The win vaulted Laird, who's won all five of his matches this year, to as high as No. 6 in the national rankings. It also clinched the Broncs' 17-15 team win over the Mountain Hawks.
- A year after posting a 30-2 record with just one win by fall, Dellavecchia had a pair of falls in his first two matches of the year and is 4-0 overall.
- Joining Laird and Dellavecchia in the unbeaten ranks this season is freshman 174 lbs. starter
Angel Garcia at 5-0. Included in the mark have been a pair of decisions on the strength of takedowns in the final seconds against Clarion and Lehigh.
- Dellavecchia is ranked fourth by Wrestlestat, Trackwrestling, Intermat, The Open Mat and Flowrestling at 157 lbs. Dellavecchia became Rider's first-ever MAC Champion at 157 lbs. in 2020, defeating nationally-ranked wrestlers Larry Early (Old Dominion) and Jarrett Jacques (Missouri) to earn the title. As the No. 4 seed at NCAA's, he was honored as an NWCA First Team All-American. He was named Clair Bee Rider Male Athlete of the Year after posting a 30-2 record.
- Laird is ranked as highly as No. 6 by Wrestlestat and also comes in at No. 7 by The Open Mat, No. 8 by Intermat, No. 9 by FloWrestling and No. 11 by Trackwrestling. He finished second at 2020 MAC Championships, was named an NWCA Scholar All-American and posted a 24-7 record, going 10-4 in duals and compiling a 7-1 mark in MAC duals. Laird earned three wins over wrestlers ranked in the Top 25 – Jake Jakobsen (Lehigh), Dakota Geer (Oklahoma State) and Michael Beard (Penn State).
- The Broncs are ranked as highly as No. 20 in the national tournament rankings (Wrestlestat), while also taking No. 21 from Intermat, No. 22 from Trackwrestling and No. 24 from The Open Mat and FloWrestling. The Broncs are ranked No. 25 in the dual team rankings by Intermat.
- Also ranked individually are
George Walton at 184 lbs.,
Jonathan Tropea at 125 lbs. and
Jake Silverstein at 165 lbs. Walton comes in at No. 24 (TrackWrestling) and No. 27 (The Open Mat), while Tropea is ranked No. 32 by Trackwrestling. Silverstein ranks 27
th in the The Open Mat rankings.
- The home team has won each of the last seven duals in the series between Rider and Drexel, with the Broncs taking a 4-3 advantage in that span.
- Drexel just began competing this season this past Friday, Feb. 5. The Dragons won duals at LIU (35-9) and George Mason (20-12), while also competing against Sacred Heart, Bloomsburg and Hofstra in non-traditional duals over the past week.
- Rider won the 2020 MAC East Division Championship with a 7-1 record against league foes, including a 6-0 mark against its East Division foes.
- A Rider wrestler has achieved All-American status on 17 occasions, including 15 different wrestlers. Current assistant coach
Ryan Wolfe, along with
Chad Walsh, were the last Broncs to earn All-American in 2017.
- Rider earned a statement victory over then-No. 6 Minnesota on Nov. 15, 2019.
