Field Hockey Stifled at Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT – The Rider University field hockey team fell behind 2-0 in the first half at Fairfield University, and ultimately fell by that score on Friday afternoon. The Broncs are now 8-3 on the season, and sit at 1-1 in the NEC. The Stags even their record at 6-6 on the year and are a top the NEC standings at 2-0.
 
Julianna Kratz scored both goals for Fairfield, scoring off a corner just over 10 minutes into the game. Early in the second corner, Kratz again found the back of the cage with what would be the contest's final score.
 
The Broncs were stifled by the Stags defense all day. With just over three minutes remaining, Rider earned a penalty stroke, but Zoe Rosen made the save and would go on to preserve the shut out.
