LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Intermat has announced its Preseason All-MAC Teams, with a pair of Broncs being recognized. Sophomore transfer Quinn Kinner (Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway [Ohio State]) and graduate student
Matt Correnti (Delran, NJ/Holy Cross [Rutgers]) have both been named to the Second Team.
A two-time New Jersey State Champion and four-time placewinner at Kingsway High School, Kinner spent two years competing at Ohio State. After posting a 16-2 record at 141 lbs. in a redshirt year of 2018-19, Kinner posted a 22-8 record as a sophomore in 2019-20, including a win over nationally-ranked Penn State wrestler Brady Berge at 157 lbs. He's tabbed to wrestle at 141 lbs. for the Broncs this season.
Correnti posted a 5-6 record in his first season with the Broncs last year. More than half his results came at MAC Championships, where he posted a 4-2 mark and came a win away from securing a berth at NCAA's. But top-seeded Clarion wrestler Greg Bulsak defeated Correnti twice in the tournament to knock him out of contention just short of NCAA's. For his collegiate career, he's posted a 61-47 record.
The Broncs open the 2021-22 season on Nov. 6 at 8 p.m., when they welcome Purdue to Alumni Gymnasium.
