Men's Cross Country Competes at Princeton Invitational, Leopard Invitational

Noah Taylor leads Broncs at Princeton, Gobi Thurairajah paces Rider at Lafayette

PRINCETON, NJ – The Rider University men's cross country team finished 19th at the Princeton Invitational on the West Windsor Fields. The event featured two MAAC programs, with the Broncs finishing behind Monmouth.

Freshman Noah Taylor (Mohnton, PA/Twin Valley) was the Broncs top finisher, completing the 8 kilometer course in 25:38:9, good for 57th. Jesse Campoverde (Haskell, NJ/ Lakeland) was next in 116th at 26:18:9, while Leo Zaccaria (North Wildwood, NJ/Cape May Technical) took 148th at 26:51:0. Kevin Heredia (Clifton, NJ/Clifton)(26:57:9, 153rd), Iain Taylor (Mohnton, PA/Twin Valley)(27:05:7, 159th), Will Spector (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan)(27:40:4, 180th), and Jeremie Garcia(Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan)(27:42:5, 182nd) rounded out the Broncs' finishers.

The Broncs also competed at the Leopard Invitational in Easton, PA. As a team, the Broncs placed 5th, led by Gobi Thurairajah (Egg Harbor Township, NJ Egg Harbor Township)(27:11:98, 16th), Jack Gatti (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit North)(27:23:93, 18th), Andrew Nicolasi (Howell, NJ/Howell)(28:26:21, 34th), Elliot Puckett (Yardley, PA/Holy Ghost Prep)(28:26:89, 35th), Mike Laskowski (Rahway, NJ Rahway)(28:33:34, 36th)and Joaquin Tianga (South Orange, NJ/Columbia)(28:58:40, 38th).

Gobi Thurairajah had a strong comeback, leading our squad with a 16th place overall finish in 27:11 with Jack Gatti and Andrew Lazorcak not far behind to give us a nice group finish. - Villanova's Haftu Strintzos was the individual winner in the 8 kilometer, finishing in 24:05.2 at the Princeton Invitational.
- Villanova won the Princeton Invitational as a team, with the first, fourth, sixth, ninth, 12th, 13th and 22nd place finishers.
- Bucknell's Noah Martin was the individual winner in the 8 kilometer course at the Leopard Invitational, finishing in 25:43:65.
- Bucknell took the win as a team at the Leopard Invitational, with the first, second, fourth, fifth, ninth, 11th and 13th place finishers.

The Broncs return to action when they compete at the MAAC Championships on Oct. 30 in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
