What You Need to Know
- The Rider men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete for a MAAC Championship on Saturday. Both squads were picked to finish third in the Preseason Polls earlier this fall.
Men's Preview
- The Rider men will look to capture the conference title after finishing as runner-up at last year's MAAC Championships.
- Returning from last year's top group are
Dominik Lisicky,
Jared Voorhees, and
Matthew Mastroly, who all placed among Rider's top three finishers.
- Lisicky is the top returning finisher, placing 21st overall last season with a time of 25:04.8.
-
Matt McCarron and
Santino D'Amelio have been consistent front-runners this fall, and two other Broncs to look for at the championships.
- McCarron paced the Broncs at both the NJ Jam and Princeton Fall Classic, while D'Amelio led the way at the Jasper Invite and Paul Short Run.
Women's Preview
- The Rider women aim to build on their third-place finish from last year's MAAC Championships.
-
Liz Fis,
Makala Hansen, and
Maddie Dischert return as the Broncs' top three finishers from last season, with Fis leading that group in 25th place (22:02.0).
-
Nicole Dauberman has been a key contributor this fall, finishing as Rider's top performer at both the Temple Invite and NJ Jam.
- Dischert has been on a strong run, leading the Broncs at the last three meets — the Jasper Invite, Paul Short Run, and Princeton Fall Classic.
Both teams will look to place runners inside the top 15 to earn All-MAAC honors, while the top five freshmen finishers in each race will be named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team.Â
