Dimencio Vaughn (New York, NY/Callaway/The Masters School) has been named MAAC Player of the Week, the league office today announced. Vaughn averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, while shooting 76.2 percent (16-21) from the floor and 66.7 percent (4-6) from beyond the arc in the Broncs' 1-1 weekend. Vaughn is the third Bronc this season to earn the honor, joining
Frederick Scott (Munster, IN/Simeon [DePaul]) (Nov. 11) and
Tyere Marshall (Philadelphia, PA/Martin Luther King/Putnam Science) (Nov. 25).
Vaughn began the week with 15 points and seven rebounds, shooting 6-of-10 in a 68-52 win over Fairfield on Friday. He then scored a season-high 28 points on 10-of-11 shooting (3-of-4 3ptFG), while making four steals in defeat at Monmouth.
For the season, he's now averaging a team-high 14.3 points per game, while shooting 45.0 percent (27-60) from long range. In league play, he's averaging 15.9 points per game, while shooting 50 percent (60-120) from the floor and 54.1 percent (20-37) from long range.
