LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Three players scored in double figures as the Rider University women's basketball team defeated visiting Iona, 53-41, on Sunday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Broncs (21-4, 14-2 MAAC) won their fourth straight contest, while the Gaels (8-16, 7-8 MAAC) saw their two-game winning streak come to an end.

Rider used a 14-2 run to start the fourth quarter to pull away from Iona. During the spurt, the Broncs stretched their lead to as many as 19.

Trailing by one at halftime, Rider turned to
Stella Johnson (Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic). Stella outscored Iona, 13-11, in the third quarter as the Broncs turned a one-point deficit into a five-point leading into the fourth.

Sophomore point guard
Amanda Mobley (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh) had a game-high 16 points thanks to knocking down 3-of-5 from three-point range. Stella added 15 points, while
Lea Favre (Vevey, Switzerland/Lycee Jeanne D'Arc) was the third Bronc in double figures with 14 points.

- Mobley also added three assists and two steals. She hit three or more three-pointers in a game for the sixth time this season. When Mobley scores in double figures, Rider is 9-1.

Stella Johnson became the only active player in Division I with 2,000 career points, 700 career rebounds, 400 career assists and 300 career steals. On the day, she also had eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.

Lea Favre had a season-high nine rebounds for the Broncs. She has scored in double figures in 18 of the last 20 games.

Amari Johnson pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

Aubre Johnson had seven rebounds, two blocks and two points for Rider.
