TOWSON, MD – Sophomore
Carly Brosious (Drexel Hill, PA/Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast) recorded her first career hat trick to lead the Rider University field hockey team past host Towson, 4-1, on Friday afternoon at the TU Field Hockey Complex.
Â
The Broncs (5-2) won their third game in a row, while the Tigers (1-7) dropped their second straight contest.
Â
Brosious becomes the second Bronc to register a hat trick this season joining classmate
Julia Divorra (Terrassa, Spain/Vedruna Vall).
Â
The host Tigers opened the scoring in third minute courtesy of a strike in the third minute. Rider wasted little time evening the score as Divorra knotted the game at one a minute later.
Â
Following the Divorra tally, Brosious recorded a natural hat trick with three unanswered strikes. The eventual game-winner came in the sixth minute of play and she would go on to add a pair of insurance goals off penalty corners in the second half.
