Peter Komosinski (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Laurel Springs) won all three of his singles matches as the Rider University men's tennis team opened the 2019-20 season this past weekend at the Villanova Invitational.
Griffin Clark (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township),
Nicholas Salazar (Palmetto Bay, FL/Westminster Christian School),
Benjamin Tauber (Bethlehem, PA/Nazareth Area) and
Adrian Tsui (Roslyn Heights, NY/Roslyn) also each won a singles match.
Komosinski earned wins over Abhina Nallapareddy (Haverford), 6-0, 6-1, Paul Caruso (Lafayette), 8-1, and Nash Lovallo (Lafayette), 6-2, 6-1. Komosinski and Salazar also scored a 6-2 doubles win over Lovallo and Ryan Thompson of Lafayette. Salazar's singles win came over Lafayette's Brandt Baldwin, 6-3, 6-4.
Tsui and Tauber each earned their first wins at Rider. Tsui defeated Haverford's Raja Arul, 8-4, while Tauber defeated Caruso, 8-2. Clark also took a three-set victory over Haverford's Jason Edmonds, 6-3, 4-6, 10-6.
Tsui and Clark also paired to defeat Haverford's Jackson Trevor and Jason Edmonds, 6-2, in doubles play.
The Broncs return to action Saturday, when they travel to Niagara. Matches are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
