PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rider University women's track and field team opened the 2019 outdoor season on Saturday at the Penn Challenge. The one-day event featured 12 teams and was contested at Franklin Field.
The Bronc women won saw a pair of ECAC-qualifying performances from their throwers on Saturday.
In the shot put, junior
Ronetta Hunter (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) finished fourth overall with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 13.71m.
Senior
Ashley Berry (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) picked up where she left off during the indoor season. Berry came in fourth in the discus throw with an ECAC-qualifying toss of 45.36m.

- Rider returns to action next weekend competing in a pair of events. The Broncs will host the Rider 5-Way Meet on Saturday, March 30. The team will also send student-athletes down South to compete in the two-day Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State.

Yohanny Rodriguez finished in third-place in the high jump thanks to clearing 1.60m.

Mary Ilelaboye was sixth in the 200m dash at 26.04.

Sophia Castronovo came in sixth-place in the 400 with a time of 59.47.

Fidele Jules landed in sixth-place in the shot put with a toss of 13.09m.
