WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- All regular-season home games in 2018-19 will be carried on either ESPN3 or ESPN+. Road games only will be carried on 107.7 The Bronc.
- Rider and Quinnipiac are playing for the 15th time in the all-time series history with the Bobcats having won each of the first 14 meetings. The first-ever meeting between the two teams came back during the 2012-13 season. The Bobcats have eliminated the Broncs from each of the last two MAAC Tournaments, including a victory in the 2017 MAAC Championship game.
- The Bobcats enter Thursday's tilt with a 19-6 overall record and 14-0 mark in conference play after defeating Fairfield, 48-40, on the road on Sunday. Quinnipiac has won 45 straight games versus MAAC teams. The Bobcats lead the MAAC in six different statistical categories entering the week. QU is tops in the conference in scoring defense (50.8 PPGA), scoring margin (+13.0), field-goal percentage defense (.367), three-point field-goal percentage defense (.292), turnover margin (+8.7) and steals per game (11.9). Quinnipiac is also second in the MAAC in scoring offense, pouring almost 64 point per game. It is a balanced attack for the Bobcats with four players scoring over eight points per game. Seniors Jen Fay and Aryn McClure are both averaging in double figures.
- Rider is 11-3 MAAC play for the second time under Head Coach
Lynn Milligan and the second time in program history. It matches their previous-best 14-game start to conference play which the team also accomplished during their historic 2016-17 campaign.
- The Broncs have won 10 or more conference games for the third year in a row and the fourth time overall under Milligan. It is the second time in program history that the Broncs have stacked three 10-win seasons in a row. The other time was from 1992-96 when the Broncs played in the NEC. It also marks just the second time in program history that Rider has won 11 MAAC games in a season.
- Junior guard
Stella Johnson scored a game-high 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting against Manhattan on Sunday. Stella connected on 2-of-5 attempts from three-point range and she also knocked down 6-of-8 at the charity stripe. She grabbed a team-high six rebounds in the setback to go along with five assists and two steals. It marked the ninth game in which Stella registered over five rebounds, five assists and at least two steals this season.
- Junior forward
Tracey Goodman gave the Broncs a major boost off the bench versus the Jaspers last Sunday. Goodman scored a career-high 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting to go along with five rebounds and one steal. She hit 2-of-4 shots from three-point range in 20 minutes. Against Manhattan, Goodman set new career-bests in points, field-goals made, three-point field-goals made and minutes played.
- Rider enters the week in the top-three in the MAAC in six different statistical categories. The Broncs rank second in the conference in field-goal percentage (.402), made three-point field goals per game (6.4), and blocks per game (3.9). The team is also third in the league in scoring offense (62.8), scoring margin (+0.2) and turnover margin (+1.2).
- Rider had a packed non-conference schedule in the early portion of the season. After facing the two-time defending Ivy League champion Princeton Tigers, the Broncs have faced opponents from the A10 (Saint Joseph's), the ACC (Boston College) and the BIG EAST (Georgetown). Rider faced one team that played in last year's NCAA Tournament (Princeton) and four squads that appeared in the WNIT (Saint Joseph's, Navy, Bucknell and Georgetown). The Broncs are 0-2 against NCAA Tournament teams and 3-3 versus teams that appeared in last year's WNIT.
