Quotes & Notes
"I think part of our mindset tonight was just to make sure that we came out and played in segments. We talked about playing in four-minute segments, coming out, being aggressive, getting stops and setting the tone in the first four minutes of the game. I think our guys did a really good job of doing that."
(On the young reserves getting extended minutes) "We need to get those game experience on the fly. Anytime you have the opportunity to have this type of lead and be able to play those guys as many minutes as we did, it was a good thing for us. We could continue to teach these guys, watch film and show them what they're doing right and wrong."
– Rider Head Coach Kevin Baggett
- The win was Rider's first-ever over Delaware State. The Hornets had won the only other two meetings in the series, both in the 1981-82 season.
- Rider is 2-0 for the second time in the last four years (2016-17). The last time a Broncs team started a year with as many as three-consecutive wins was 1971-72, when Rider defeated Glassboro State, Delaware Valley, Scranton and Bucknell consecutively.
- Ings scored his first-career points, as did Bladen and
Khalil Turner (Philadelphia, PA/Sankofa Freedom Academy), both of whom were playing in their first collegiate games.

Up next is a Nov. 17 road game at Arizona State, the Broncs' first in the four-game Air Force Reserve Tip-Off Tournament Presented By Citi. Rider then plays another true road game at Massachusetts (Nov. 20), before playing neutral-court contests at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, against Columbia (Nov. 23) and either Central Connecticut or Vermont (Nov. 24).
- Rider's home opener comes Dec. 3 against Bucknell.
