Women's Basketball Ranked No. 22 in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll

The Broncs are ranked in the poll for the first time since February of 2017

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's basketball team was named to the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 as announced by the committee on Tuesday afternoon. The Broncs enter the poll for the first time this season at No. 22 with 115 points.

The ranking is the highest for Rider in the poll in program history. During the team's historic 2016-17 campaign, the Broncs were ranked as high as No. 23.

"This is a great step for the program, but we are very early in the season," Rider Head Coach Lynn Milligan said. "We will continue to stick to the process and work to be better every day."

Rider is currently 2-1 on the year with victories over Penn State and Xavier.

The CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top-25 is now in its seventh season of existence. The poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast and Western Athletic and is voted on by a panel of 31 coaches.

Rider is one of two teams from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) to appear in the poll. Marist is currently No. 9 and Quinnipiac is receiving votes.

The Broncs return to action on Friday, November 22, with a neutral-site battle against Lipscomb as part of the MAAC/ASUN Challenge at the HP Field House in Florida. The meeting will be the first-ever between the two teams.
