LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's track and field team competed at a pair of events on Friday afternoon. The Broncs sent student-athletes to both the 124th Penn Relays in Philadelphia and the Lions Invitational hosted by TCNJ in nearby Ewing.
"The men's 4x400 ran a really nice race today," Rider Head Coach
Bob Hamer said. "Those guys have really upped their game when it comes to this relay. There is a sense of pride and a strong desire to achieve big goals. They still have a chance to accomplish some big goals this year. It will also be exciting for these guys to race in front of a big crowd tomorrow for the final."
At the Penn Relays, the 4x400 quartet of junior
Russell Malko (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central), junior
Alvin Abraham (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor Township), senior
Brian Calderaro (Massapequa, NY/John F. Kennedy) and freshman
Christian Wiedman (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) qualified for the finals with a time of 3:16.11.
