PRINCETON, NJ – The Rider University women's track and field team took part in the Princeton New Year's Invite on Saturday. The one-day event took place inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
The Broncs won a trio of events at nearby Princeton with both senior
Ashley Berry (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) finishing first in the weight throw, classmate
Destiny Kearney (Toms River, NJ/Toms River HS South) came in first in the triple jump and junior
Nicole Berry (Berlin, NJ/Winslow Township) ended up in first-place in the 800.
Ashley Berry won the weight throw for the second meet in a row. On Saturday, she posted an ECAC-qualifying mark of 16.63.
Nicole Berry won the 800 with a time of 2:17.83 and Kearney landed in first-place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.41.
Junior
Ronetta Hunter (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) also had a nice day for the Broncs as she finished third in the shot put with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 13.53. Â

Fidele Jules came in second-place in the weight throw with a toss of 15.94.

Yohanny Rodriguez was third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.29.

Lindsay Bauer finished third in the long jump at 5.49.
- Rodriguez also tied for third in the high jump, clearing 1.57.
- Kearney also added a sixth-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.31.

Sophia Castronovo finished in third-place in the 200 with a time of 26.66.

Cleopatra Morrison was second in the 60m with at 7.79.
- The Rider 4x400 relay quartet of
Alenys Morales,
Quinn Bithell,
Nicole Berry and
Sara Gardner came in fourth-place with a time of 4:05.63.
UP NEXT
The meet marked the final competitive action for the Broncs during the first semester. Rider returns to action on Friday, January 4, traveling to Staten Island, New York to compete in the one-day Wagner Invite at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
