WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Rider squares off with in-state rival Rutgers on Sunday, December 16. The Broncs are taking part in their second dual of the season, while the No. 25 Scarlet Knights return to action after a six-week hiatus.
- The in-state rivals are meeting for the first time since December of 2012. In that dual, Rutgers earned a victory.
- The Broncs opened the season with a pair of tournaments – the Princeton Open on Nov. 4 and the Keystone Classic on Nov. 18. Â
- In their first dual of the season, Rider defeated Penn, 20-18, at Alumni Gymnasium on November 29. In the victory, Senior

Jesse Dellavecchia won the Broncs' last two matches as the Rider University wrestling team came from behind to take down the Quakers.
- Rutgers is No. 25 in the latest NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll. As a team, RU is also ranked T/13 by TrackWrestling, No. 14/20 (tournament/dual) by Intermat and No. 14 by FloWrestling.
- Five individuals appear in the national rankings for Rutgers. Anthony Ashnault is the consensus No. 2 wrestler in the country at 149 pounds, while Suriano is as high as No. 2 nationally at 133 pounds.
- Rider was picked to finish second in the EWL Preseason Poll, while seniors Sherry and
Anthony Cefolo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park [South Dakota State]) were picked atop their weight classes of 174 and 133, respectively.
- Dellavecchia represents Rider in the national polls, currently ranked No. 20 by Intermat at 165 pounds.
- Rider has split its last two duals against ranked opponents. The Broncs defeated No. 23 Lock Haven last January before falling to No. 18 Minnesota in mid-February of 2018.
- The Broncs' recruiting class was ranked No. 22 in the nation by Intermet. Frankie Gissendanner (Rochester, NY/Penfield) headlines the class after ranking second in the country last year.
- Rider's 2018-19 season features seven home dual matches, including visits from Iowa State (Jan. 17) and Maryland (Feb. 24). In addition, the Broncs will wrestle in-state foes Rutgers and Princeton on the road on Dec. 16 and 20, respectively, and travel to Minnesota on Feb. 21.  Â
