Women's Soccer Signs Four for 2019

Hounsome gets commitments from four players from four different states

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University Women's Soccer Head Coach Drayson Hounsome has announced the commitments of four incoming freshman for the 2019 season. Camryn Dees (Pickerington, OH/Pickerington High School North), Lindsey Maslow (Hanover, MA/Hanover), Makenzie Rodrigues (Redmond, WA/Redmond) and Hailey Russell (Riverside, NJ/Riverside) comprise the incoming class.

Camryn Dees

Midfield – Pickerington, OH/Pickerington High School North

A standout midfielder, Dees was a four-year starter at Pickerington High School North, where she led the team to the state Final Four. As a junior and senior, Dees was named First Team All-Conference and captained the team to a fourth-straight district title. At the club level, Dees played in the ECNL National League with Ohio Premier, helping the team to the ECNL Elite Eight in 2017 and the ECNL National Final in 2018.

Hounsome on Dees:
"Camryn is a dynamic and intelligent defensive midfielder with good movement and who reads the game very well. She is technically good on the ball and will be a great addition to our midfield unit."

Lindsey Maslow

Midfield – Hanover, MA/Hanover

An attacking midfielder, Maslow was a four-year starter for Hanover High School. As a junior, she led the Indians to the Division 3 South playoffs with 16 goals and 10 assists, receiving Patriot League All-Star, Eastern Mass All-Star, and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic honors. As a senior, Maslow was a named Patriot League All-Star, First Team Eastern Mass All-Star and was ranked in the top 10 in the league. At the club level, Maslow played in the ECNL National League for three years with the FC Boston Scorpions and in the National Premier League for two years with South Shore Select.

Hounsome on Maslow:
"Lindsey is a very attack-minded player with good athleticism. She can play as both a fullback and forward or even in between as a midfielder/wingback. She will be a dangerous attacking player for us on the left side of the field."

Makenzie Rodrigues

Forward – Redmond, WA/Redmond

A three-time Washington State ODP forward, Rodrigues has played at the highest youth level in the nation. In the ECNL National League, she was part of the Cross Fire Premier program and in the newly formed Girls Developmental Academy, she played with Eastside FC and Seattle Reign.

Hounsome on Rodrigues:
"Makenzie is a quick technical forward with an eye for goal. She is very comfortable on the ball and will be a dangerous attacker in the MAAC"

Hailey Russell

Forward – Riverside, NJ/Riverside

The all-time leading goal scorer for Riverside High School with 155 goals, Russell was a four-year starter, breaking school records throughout her varsity career. As a freshman, Russell tied the school record for goals in a single season (37) and was named New Jersey Freshman of the Year. As a junior, Russell was the leading high school goal scorer in New Jersey, hitting the back of the net 60 times. She was named First Team Freedom Division for four-consecutive years, a NJ Top 25 Player, as well as the NJ Player of the Week on nine occasions. At the club level, Russell played in the National Premier League with the SJEB Rush, leading the team to three State Cup Championships, and a Regional Championship.

"Hailey is an exciting explosive forward who can score goals. She has a great shot and is excellent at scoring in tight spaces. She is a strong addition to our attacking unit."
