Women’s Soccer Unveils Schedule for the Upcoming 2026 Season

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's soccer team have announced their schedule for the upcoming 2026 season, playing a slate of 15 matches with non-conference play beginning on Thursday, August 13 with an away fixture against Wagner in Staten Island. The Broncs open their home campaign two weeks later, facing off against Temple on Thursday, August 27 at Ben Cohen Field. Women's Soccer begins their 2026 Metro Conference schedule on Saturday, September 5, with a match against Fairfield in Connecticut.

Besides their opening day matchup with Wagner, the Broncs hit the road one more time for non-conference play on Sunday, August 16, heading to Newark to face off against NJIT.

After their opening Metro Conference game against Fairfield, the Broncs host their opening Metro Conference home game against Siena on Saturday, September 12 followed by an away match against Canisius in upstate New York on Saturday, September 19. Returning from New York State, Rider will host Mount St. Mary's in Lawrenceville on Wednesday, September 23 followed by a two-game road trip against Saint Peter's and Merrimack on Saturday, September 26 and Wednesday, September 30 to road out the first month of conference play.

October begins with a home game on Saturday, the third against Iona followed by an away match against Manhattan on Wednesday, September 7. Rider then opens up a two-game homestand, first playing Quinnipiac on Saturday, October 17 before hosting Sacred Heart on Wednesday, October 21. The Broncs hit the road one last time, traveling to Poughkeepsie to face off against Marist on Saturday, October 24 before ending their season on Saturday, October 31, hosting Niagara on Halloween at Ben Cohen.

GAME DETAIL BREAKDOWN
In total, the Broncs will play 15 games with four games played on Wednesdays, two games played on Tuesdays, eight games played on Saturdays, and one game played on a Sunday. The Broncs will play a total of eleven afternoon games during the 2026 season while playing six night games.

AWAY DAY MILEAGE
During the 2026 season, the Broncs will travel a total of 2,286 miles with their longest trip to Canisius on September 19 checking in at 730 miles round trip while their shortest trip to Wagner on August 13 checking in at 98 miles round trip.

Quick Notes: The Broncs and Seahawks played out to a competitive game in Lawrenceville last year, with Wagner stealing the win late with a goal in the 90th Minute at Ben Cohen Field. This will be the sixth consecutive year that Rider and Wagner play each other in the month of August and will be the eighth time that the two teams face off in Staten Island, with Rider owning a record of 5-1-1 in the Borough.

NJIT (Non-Conference)

Quick Notes: Rider played out to a goalless 0-0 draw in Lawrenceville last year, with the Highlanders notching a 3-0 victory in 2024 up in Newark. In goal, Ashley Moore completed six saves in goal for the Broncs, with five saves coming in the second half including a save in the 85th minute that kept the draw alive.

Temple (Non-Conference)

Quick Notes: The Broncs last rounded out a victory against the Owls in August of 2017, notching a 3-1 win against Temple. Since then, the two teams have played out to four consecutive draws, splitting the ties among Lawrenceville and Philadelphia.

Quick Notes: Fairfield tallied a 6-0 win last year at Ben Cohen, scoring five first half goals against the Broncs in New Jersey in October. Rider will look to strike back against the Stags in this year's edition of the fixture while looking to notch their second ever win away at Fairfield.

Siena got the best of the Broncs in 2025, notching a 3-0 win in Loudonville. The broncs have accrued a 5-5-2 record against the Saints in Lawrenceville, last having beat Siena 2-1 in 2022.

Canisius (Metro Conference)
