What You Need to Know
- Rider hits the road for the first of two straight road games in the Constitution State on Wednesday, January 10 against Fairfield. The Broncs have won back-to-back road games and three of their last four outside of Lawrenceville.
- Rider defeated Fairfield, 49-36, in last year's MAAC Tournament Semifinals. The Stags have had the edge in regular-season meetings, winning each of the last eight thanks to sweeping the series in each of the past four seasons. Rider's last win at Fairfield came in January of 2013.
- On Monday,
Lexi Posset was named the College Sports Madness MAAC Player of the Week. Last time out, the Broncs topped Canisius, 70-54, at home in MAAC play. The win was the second straight for Rider in conference play. Junior point guard
Lexi Posset paced the Rider offensive attack with a career-high 27 points thanks to knocking down 5-of-8 from three-point range.
Stella Johnson was the other Bronc in double figures.
- Posset was the third Bronc to earn the award this season joining sophomore
Lea Favre and senior
Kamila Hoskova. Posset averaged 21 points, four assists, over six rebounds and shot better than 53 percent from three-point range last week as the Broncs went 2-0 in conference play. In wins over Saint Peter's and Canisius, she hit 15-of-20 free-throw attempts and knocked down over 41 percent from the field. Posset opened up with 15 points, a career-high seven rebounds and five assists in a 57-52 victory at SPU. She closed the week with a career-high 27 points thanks to hitting 5-of-8 from three-point range in a 16-point win at home against Canisius.
- Fairfield enters Wednesday's midweek conference clash in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The contest with the Broncs is the final of a three-game homestand for the Stags. Fairfield is 6-8 overall with a perfect 3-0 mark in MAAC play. Inside Alumni Hall, the Stags are 4-2 this season. Each of their last two league wins have come in overtime with six-point victories over both Niagara and Monmouth. The balanced offensive attack for Fairfield sees three players averaging in double figures led by redshirt senior Samantha Cooper. Cooper is fourth in MAAC in scoring with over 15 points per game and she leads the conference in rebounding with more than 10 rebounds per contest. She is one of just two players in the MAAC this season averaging a double-double. Sophomore guard Sam Kramer and redshirt junior forward Khadidiatou Diouf are both adding better than 11 points per tilt. Kramer is shooting a team-best 35.6 percent from three-point range, while Diouf is grabbing over six rebounds per game and shooting 40 percent from the field. As a team, Fairfield ranks second in the MAAC in four different statistical categories. The Stags are second in the league in scoring defense (allowing opponents to score just over 63 points per game), three-pointers made per game (7.0), turnover margin ( 2.8) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.1).
- After dropping their first two conference games of the season, Rider has won back-to-back MAAC tilts. Rider has forced 18 or more turnovers in each of the last three games. The broncs have forced 17 turnovers 11 times this season. Rider has a 1.6 turnover ratio this year which ranks third in the MAAC.

Currently, Hoskova has 1,017 career points which ranks 20th all-time at Rider.
