LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Rider University wrestling team continues to maintain its position among the top wrestling programs in the country, moving up two spots to No. 19 in both the USA Today/NWCA Coaches Poll and the Intermat dual rankings. Additionally, redshirt senior 165-pounder
Chad Walsh (Cherry Hill, NJ/Camden Catholic) ranks as highly as No. 3 in the nation and fellow fifth-year senior
B.J. Clagon (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) is ranked as highly as No. 11 nationally by FloWrestling. Intermat also ranks the Broncs No. 22 in its team tournament rankings.
The Broncs are coming off a pair of dual wins this past Saturday, defeating Princeton, 21-12, and EWL foe George Mason, 36-6, to improve to 7-2 on the season. Rider's lone losses on the year have come to Missouri and Iowa, which rank third and fourth in the nation, respectively, in this week's NWCA poll.
Having posted a 14-0 overall record this season, Walsh is ranked third by Intermat at 165. WrestleStat slates him in at No. 4, while The Open Mat and FloWrestling rank him fifth.
In addition to his No. 11 ranking by FloWrestling, Clagon is ranked No. 13 by WrestleStat and No. 16 by Intermat at 157.
Tyson Dippery (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin [Rutgers]) is also ranked No. 21 at 141 by WrestleStat.
The Broncs have a pair of pivotal matches this weekend, traveling to Cleveland State on Friday at 6 p.m. before facing Edinboro on Sunday at 1 p.m. The rival Fighting Scots rank No. 21 in Intermat's dual rankings.Â
