Women's Basketball Squares Off With Quinnipiac on Monday

What You Need to Know
- Rider hits the road for the second of two straight road games in the Constitution State on Monday, January 15 versus Quinnipiac. The Broncs have won three straight road games and four of their last five outside of Lawrenceville.
- Monday's tilt is a rematch of last season's MAAC Tournament Championship. The Bobcats rallied to defeat Rider, 81-73, to earn the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. The win was the 10th straight for QU against the Broncs. Rider has never beaten the Bobcats.
- Quinnipiac enters the game with a 12-5 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play after topping Saint Peter's on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats have won seven straight games dating back to mid-December and are 6-1 at home this season with their lone loss inside the TD Bank Sports Center coming against Princeton. Dating back to last season, QU has won 16 games in a row against MAAC opponents. Entering the weekend, the balanced Quinnipiac offensive attack sees two players averaging in double figures and five players pouring in more than 7.9 points per game. Redshirt junior Jen Fay leads the QU attack with 12 points and nearly eight rebounds per game, while Preseason MAAC Player of the Year Aryn McClure is scoring over 10 points and pulling down more than six rebounds per contest. McClure is also shooting a team-best 40 percent from three-point range. As a team, Quinnipiac leads the MAAC in eight different statistical categories, including scoring defense (62.2 PPG), scoring offense (66.6 PPG), scoring margin (+4.4), three-point field goals made per game (8.6), turnover margin (+4.81), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.30), blocked shots (4.4 BPG), steals (9.75 SPG) and assists (16.1 APG).
- Rider scored its third straight MAAC win with a 61-45 triumph at Fairfield. The Broncs were led offensively sophomore guard Stella Johnson with a game-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds, two blocks and three steals, while Kamila Hoskova added a double-double. Rider shot 42 percent from the field and knocked down six shots from beyond the arc. The Broncs also won the battle on the boards, outrebounding Fairfield, 33-31. 
- After dropping their first two conference games of the season, Rider has won three consecutive MAAC tilts. Rider won its first conference game of the year on January 2 with a five-point win at Saint Peter's. The Broncs won their second straight on January 7 with a 16-point triumph at home versus Canisius and last time out they raced past Fairfield in the Constitution State for another double-digit win. Defensively, Rider has forced 51 turnovers in the last three games. The Broncs have committed fewer turnovers than their opponents in each of their last four MAAC games. They are 3-1 in those contests.
- In true road games this year, Rider is 4-4. After a slow start, the Broncs have won three games in a row away from Lawrenceville. In total, Rider has won four of their last five on the road.
- This season, Rider is 5-0 when holding opponents to under 60 points. The Broncs are also 6-1 in 2017-18 when they shoot a higher percentage than their opponents. Rider has forced 18 or more turnovers in three of its last four games. The Broncs have forced at least 17 turnovers in a game 11 times this season. Rider has a +1.8 turnover ratio this year which ranks third in the MAAC. Against Fairfield, Rider had six blocked shots and eight steals.
- Senior Kamila Hoskova registered her second double-double of the season at Fairfield on January 10. She scored 12 points and added 10 rebounds. Her other double-double this year came against East Carolina. Sophomore Stella Johnson is the other Bronc with a double-double this year and she also has two, one of which came at Saint Peter's on conference play on January 2.
- After a slow start, Rider has been improving from three-point range. Heading into Monday, the team ranks third in the MAAC in three-point field-goal percentage. The Broncs are hitting 30.8 percent (82-of-266) from beyond the arc. This season, Rider is 2-2 when making seven or more treys in a game. Last time out, the team his six at Fairfield. Redshirt sophomore Lexi Stover has hit a team-high 24 three-pointers this season. Stella Johnson is leading the team in shooting percentage from deep, hitting 37 percent (17-of-46).
- Three Broncs rank in the top-five in statistical categories in the MAAC this season. Kamila Hoskova is fourth in free-throw percentage (80.2%) and third in minutes played per game (34.7), while Lexi Posset is fifth in minutes played per game (34.1). Stella Johnson is second in steals (41), second in steals per game (2.6), third in points per game (15.2) and fourth in field-goal percentage (47.4%).
- Senior Kamila Hoskova became the 22nd player in program history to score 1,000 career points on December 30 against Siena. She became the third Bronc in the last two years to reach the milestone and the second in the past two years to do so on a free throw against the Saints. Currently, Hoskova has 1,029 career points which ranks 20th all-time at Rider.
