Jersey City, NJ – The Rider University women's volleyball team won its third straight match, topping Saint Peter's, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action. The Broncs topped the Peacocks by scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-13.
Rider (9-9, 3-3 MAAC) defeated Saint Peter's (0-17, 0-6 MAAC) for the 14th consecutive time.
Offensively, junior
Hailey Riede (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley-Demarest) led the Bronc attack with 13 kills and an impressive .481 hitting percentage, while senior
Jennifer Borio (Ridley Park, PA/Padua Academy) chipped in 11 kills and a .400 attack percentage. Both Riede and Borio hit over .400 for the second match in a row. Â In the middle, senior setter
Veronica Koval (Allentown, PA/Parkland) had 36 assists, five kills and two service aces for the Broncs.
Senior tri-captain
Emma Aldaya (Prospect Park, PA/Merion Mercy Academy) led the defensive effort with 11 digs, while Koval added 10 or her own. Sophomore
Rachelle Runyon (Aliso Viejo, CA/Aliso Niguel) added a team-high 13 digs of her own. Freshmen
Brynn Sherbert (Temecula, CA/Great Oak) and
Danielle Blanco (El Paso, TX/Franklin) contributed seven and eight digs, respectively.
At the net, sophomore
Evelyn Shanefield (Drexel Hill, PA/Upper Darby) had one solo block and three block assists. Â Â Â Â

"The team played well today," Rider Head Coach Chris Feliciano said. "They fought through some inconsistent play and came out with a win."
- Rider had 49 kills, 43 assists, five total blocks and 58 digs.
- The Broncs are 2-5 in true road games in 2017, the team is also 5-8 outside of Lawrenceville and 6-1 inside the Garden State.
- The Broncs have won 14 matches in a row against Saint Peter's. Rider has swept the Broncs in each of the last six seasons.

- Koval has had 25 or more assists in 15 matches this season, including 10 straight. The double-double was her team-leading seventh of the autumn.
- Aldaya topped 10 digs in a match for the 12th time this year. She continues to rewrite the program record book as she now has 1,894 career digs.
- Riede has now reached double-digits in kills in a match 11 times this fall, including 10 matches in a row. She has a team-best 192 kills in 2017. In conference play, she is averaging over 13 kills per match.
- Runyon had 10 or more digs for the sixth time this year.
- Borio has now recorded 10 or more six times, including three performances in MAAC play.
