Lawrenceville, NJ – The Rider University women's volleyball team won its fourth straight match, topping visiting Siena, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action inside Alumni Gymnasium. The Broncs topped the Saints by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-13.
Rider (10-9, 4-3 MAAC) avenged a season-ending setback to Siena (1-17, 1-6 MAAC) in the 2016 MAAC Tournament with the victory.
Offensively, junior
Hailey Riede (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley-Demarest) led the Bronc attack with 11 kills and a .390 hitting percentage, while senior
Jennifer Borio (Ridley Park, PA/Padua Academy) chipped in six kills and a .400 attack percentage. Both Riede and Borio hit over .375 for the third match in a row. Â In the middle, senior setter
Veronica Koval (Allentown, PA/Parkland) had 25 assists and four kills.
Freshman
Brynn Sherbert (Temecula, CA/Great Oak) led the defensive effort for Rider with a team-high 14 digs, while sophomore
Rachelle Runyon (Aliso Viejo, CA/Aliso Niguel) registered 10 digs. Senior tri-captain
Emma Aldaya (Prospect Park, PA/Merion Mercy Academy) added seven digs and two services aces for the hosts.

"Anytime you can make a team one dimensional you're going to put yourself in a good position," Rider Head Coach Chris Feliciano said. "It was a good result today."
"Veronica preps really well and it's really interesting to watch her prepare," Feliciano said. "She's not too up and she's not too down, which is what you want form your captain and starting setter. She's doing a good job running our offense and keeping everyone balanced and engaged."
