Hackensack, NJ – The Rider University volleyball team blanked Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-0, on Tuesday evening at Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center. The Broncs (5-6) topped the Knights for the second time this autumn. Rider defeated Fairleigh Dickinson by scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-17. Â
The Broncs scored their third shutout win this year thanks to recording 45 kills and 67 digs as a team. Junior
Hailey Riede (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley-Demarest) paced the Rider attack once again with 13 kills, while senior
Jennifer Borio (Ridley Park, PA/Padua Academy) and junior
Savannah Logan (Jupiter, FL/Benjamin) each chipped in 11 kills apiece.

Veronica Koval (Allentown, PA/Parkland) had another double-double for Rider thanks to 36 assists and 13 digs. Defensively,
Emma Aldaya (Prospect Park, PA/Merion Mercy Academy) had a match-high 26 digs and both freshman
Danielle Blanco (El Paso, TX/Franklin) and
Brynn Sherbert (Temecula, CA/Great Oak) both recorded six digs. Â Â

Veronica Koval was named the MAAC Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. She became the first Bronc to earn league-wide distinction this season and she picked up weekly accolades for the first time in her career. Last week, she averaged 9.79 assists per set and recorded a pair of double-doubles as Rider went 2-2 at the 12th Annual Friar Classic hosted by Providence College.
- The Broncs are now 31-18 all-time against Fairleigh Dickinson. It marked the fourth straight win for Rider versus the Knights after sweeping FDU in 2016.
- The Broncs are 2-0 in the Garden State.
- The win was the first true road victory of the season for Rider and the fourth outside of Lawrenceville.

Hailey Riede has also recorded 10 or more digs in three matches in her. It marked her fourth match with 10 or more kills this season. Riede had a .344 hitting percentage in the victory. It was the fourth match this season she had an attack percentage over .300.

Jennifer Borio has registered 10 or more kills in four matches in 2017.
