POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Rider University volleyball team fell to Binghamton, 3-1, on Friday afternoon in a neutral-site clash at the McCann Center on the campus of Marist College as part of the Rose Hill Classic. The Broncs (2-3) dropped their third straight contest away from home, falling to the Bearcats (1-3) by scores of 24-26, 25-12, 25-18 and 25-15. Â
As a team, Rider had 36 kills and scored 49 total points. Offensively, juniors
Hailey Riede (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley-Demarest) and
Savannah Logan (Jupiter, FL/Benajmin) paced the Bronc attack with eight kills apiece. In the middle, senior setter
Veronica Koval (Allentown, PA/Parkland) continued her solid play with 29 assists. Â
Defensively, Rider had 10 total blocks and 65 digs. Leading the way for the squad was
Perry Williams (Drexel Hill, PA/Upper Darby) with one solo block and five block assists, while senior
Emma Aldaya (Prospect Park, PA/Merion Mercy Academy) had a team-best 16 digs.
