PHILADELPHIA – Temple swept all three doubles flights and all six singles matches to take a 7-0 win over the Rider University men's tennis team Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs slip to 2-13 on the year, while the Owls are now 15-9.
Clark also put up the strongest fight at No. 6 singles, falling in a first-set tie-breaker, 7-6, before being outlasted, 6-2, in the second.
“Even though we lost, our doubles teams played extremely well today against a team that beat Penn State,” said Rider Head Coach Doug Potkay. We played loose and with confidence. The game plan was to lob and keep them off balanced and away from the net. We played well today. This was the best team we've played this year. Griffin came close. He played an aggressive style game today.”
The Broncs return to action Friday, when they play host to Niagara. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
