Women's Swimming and Diving Battles Marist on Saturday

The Broncs fell to the Red Foxes on Senior Day

Lawrenceville, NJ – The Rider University women's swimming and diving team fell to visiting Marist, 178-122, on Saturday afternoon in their final home dual meet at the Coppola Pool inside The Maurer Center this season.

The Broncs (1-3) dropped their third dual meet in the Garden State this season, while the Red Foxes (2-1) won their second straight road dual meet versus a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponent.   

Rider got a strong performance on the day from senior Tara Maniace (Neptune, NJ/Neptune). Maniace won both the 100 fly with a time of 1:02.03 and was part of the 200 medley quartet alongside freshman Maeve Lersch (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper Saint Clair High School), freshman Lauren Kerner (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill HS East) and sophomore Olivia Iswalt (Reading, PA/Berks Catholic) that won with a time of 1:50.18.

Sophomore Casey Wrabley (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) was the other Bronc to win a race on Saturday, as she finished first in the 200 fly with a mark of 2:14.99.

In the diving events, Rider got solid performances from the trio of junior Breanne Hatter (Lincroft, NJ/Middletown HS South), sophomore Meg Tomayko (Murfreesboro, TN/Siegel) and freshman Meagan Fornero (Conroe, TX/Legacy Prepatory Christian Academy). Hatter won the 1M with a score of 233.03 and Tomayko came in third with a mark of 225.45. In the 3M event, Fornero won with a score of 237.30 and Hatter earned a second-place finish with a score of 216.60.

- For the third straight week, Breanne Hatter was named the MAAC Women's Diver of the Week. She has earned the accolade four times in her career.
- The Broncs finished in first-place in five events, including both the 1M and 3M diving events.
- Casey Wrabley also finished second in the 200 free (2:01.31) and third in the 200 IM (2:18.01).
- Tara Maniace came in second in both the 100 breast (1:07.39) and the 200 breast (2:33.67).
- Maeve Lersch finished second in the 100 back (1:00.29) and third in the 50 free (25.42).
- Olivia Iswalt came in second in the 50 free (25.39) and 100 free (55.55).
- Olivia Cann came in second in the 200 back (2:12.63) and third in the 100 back (1:01.42).
- Hatter has won the 1M in three straight dual meets.
- Fornero has finished in the top-two in the 3M in all three of her appearances this year.
