Chad Walsh (Cherry Hill, NJ/Camden Catholic) has been named Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week, the league announced today. Walsh earned a pair of wins this past week over league foes.
On Friday, he took an 8-4 victory over Edinboro's Austin Matthews, who's ranked No. 13 nationally in the FloWrestling Rankings, No. 15 by both Amateur Wrestling News and The Open Mat and No. 17 by Intermat. Walsh then pinned Cleveland State's John Vaughn on Sunday.
The 2016 EWL Wrestler of the Year, Walsh is currently ranked as highly as No. 5 nationally by both The Open Mat and Intermat. He's also ranked seventh by both Amateur Wrestling News and FloWrestling.
The Broncs return to league action this weekend, when they face Bloomsburg on Friday night at 7 p.m. and George Mason Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
