Rider at Monmouth Thursday 7pm

WEST LONG BRANCH—Winners in three of its last five games, the Rider University women's basketball team returns to action on Thursday evening when the Broncs travel to West Long Branch to take on Monmouth University in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and hOURglass rivalry game at 7pm.

The game can be seen on ESPN 3 and heard live on 107.7 FM The Bronc and www.1077thebronc.com with Jeff Nolan and Dick Wiseman bringing you all the action.

Rider (7-20, 4-14 MAAC) and Monmouth met January 21st at Alumni Gym when the Hawks scored an 87-75 victory despite 22 points from Bronc sophomore Kamila Hoskova.

The Hawks jumped out to a 27-12 lead and never trailed.

Junior Robin Perkins leads Rider in scoring and is fourth in the MAAC averaging 14.8 points per game.

Monmouth (11-16, 9-9 MAAC) enters play having won five of its last seven games including a sweep of the Western New York road swing over Niagara University and Canisius College this past weekend.

The Hawks are led by Sarah Olson who is averaging 11.9 points per game and Jamiyah Bethune who is scoring 10.9 points per contest.

Former rivals in the Northeast Conference and now the MAAC, Thursday night is the 41st meeting all-time between the squads with Monmouth leading 27-13.  The teams last met in West Long Branch on February 13, 2015 with the Broncs prevailing 65-55.

After the contest Thursday night, Rider travels to Manhattan College on Sunday at 2pm for the final game of the regular season.

The MAAC Championships are at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York March 3-7.
