Rider Hosts Manhattan Wednesday Night
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—The Rider University women's soccer team, 6-1-2 in its last nine games, will host Manhattan College in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game Wednesday at 7pm on the Ben Cohen Field.
The game is also a Code Cranberry. If you cannot make the game you can watch all of the action on BroncVision.
Rider (8-3-2, 5-1 MAAC) is off to its best start ever in MAAC play and a victory Wednesday night will clinch a playoff spot.
The Bronc offense has had seven different players score goals this year, led by junior Ellie Smith, who has seven goals and 18 points.
The Rider defense has been led by senior goalkeeper Bethany-May Howard and senior back Heather Maierle.
Manhattan (5-8, 3-3 MAAC) is coming off of a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Saint Peter's on Saturday. That victory snapped a two-game losing streak.
Rider and Manhattan tied 0-0 last year. The last time Manhattan defeated Rider was in the 2009 MAAC playoffs.
Rider leads the all-time series with the Jaspers 8-7-4.
