PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—The Rider University men's tennis team was swept at Temple University on Wednesday afternoon.

For Rider, sophomore Ahmed Al-Shawafi (Pennington/Hopewell Valley Central) won four games at first singles before losing 6-2, 6-2.

“We played a strong international team,” said head coach Doug Potkay.  “We did not play very well as a team and we are hoping to play better on Thursday in conference play.”

The Rider men host Monmouth University on Thursday at 1:30pm in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match.
