Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match
HAMDEN, Conn.—Both the Rider University men's and women's tennis teams lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Quinnipiac University Saturday afternoon.
For the Rider women, senior Michelle Caravaglio (Manalapan/Freehold) won five games at third singles before falling 6-1, 6-4.
“Michelle came back from a lackluster opening set to battle in a tough second set,” said head coach Doug Potkay. “She had half a dozen ad points but ended up losing 6-4.”
For the Bronc men, freshman Chris Popso (Florence) won five games at second singles before losing 6-3, 6-2 with sophomore Chanton Phan (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) losing 6-4, 6-0 at first singles.
“The men's singles and doubles were competitive,” Potkay said. “Quinnipiac's forehand shots proved to be too strong.”
The Rider men travel to Wagner on April 13 and the Bronc women travel to Wagner April 15.
