PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—The Rider University men's tennis team lost a non-conference match at Drexel University on Saturday afternoon.
The Dragons won 7-0.
“We played against an extremely tough, hard hitting Drexel team,” said head coach Doug Potkay. “We were competitive; game points were close and we made them work for every point.”
For Rider, freshman Brandon Gildea (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) won eight games at fifth singles before losing 7-5, 6-3.
Freshman Ryan Ciaccio (Mercerville/Hamilton North (Nottingham)) had a strong match at sixth singles before losing 6-2, 7-5.
Both the Rider men and women host Mount St. Mary's on Monday at 3pm.
