Broncs Host Niagara Wednesday
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—The Rider University men's soccer team returns to Ben Cohen Field to host the Purple Eagles of Niagara University in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game Wednesday at 2pm.
The Broncs (4-5-2, 1-3 MAAC) are 3-1 at home this season and look to end a three-game losing skid.
Niagara (4-7-2, 1-2-1 MAAC) was on an 0-4-2 skid before coming from behind to defeat Saint Peter's 2-1 on Saturday.
Rider continues to lead the MAAC in goals scored (21), the same amount Rider scored all of last season (in 18 games).
Niagara has scored seven goals this season, ninth most in the 11-team MAAC. The Purple Eagles have also given up a MAAC-high 19 goals this season.
Rider sophomore Christian Flath leads the MAAC in goals (6) and points (15).
The Broncs lost 2-0 at Niagara last year. The last time Rider defeated Niagara was 2009. Rider and Niagara played to a 0-0 tie in 2012. Rider and Niagara have met 17 times with the series tied at 7-7-3.
Weather permitting, Wednesday's game, as well as all home soccer games, will be streamed on BroncVision, the pay per view video stream of Rider Athletics.
