Men's College Tennis
Temple University 7, Rider University 0
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—The Rider University men's tennis season came to an end Monday afternoon as the Broncs lost at Temple University 7-0.
“It's hard to tell from the scores but the guys are playing a lot better and keeping the ball in play more than the beginning of the season,” said head coach Ed Torres. “Playing tough matches against good players will only make us a stronger team.”
For Rider, senior Ryan Carpenter (Sahuarita, Ariz./Sahuarita) won three games at number three singles before losing his final collegiate match 6-2, 6-1.
“Today, we were more into each point and kept a lot of rallies alive,” Torres added. “We took steps to improve, not only today but as the season went on.”
Rider returns four letterwinners for the fall 2013 season.
