PHILADELPHIA, Pa.--The Rider University men's tennis team lost a non-conference match at La Salle University Wednesday afternoon.

"The scores really don't indicate how evenly played the match was," said head coach Ed Torres.  "Both teams were getting after it and La Salle was steadier and kept the ball in play more.  We tried to force too many 'end the point' shots and went for too many winners."

For Rider, senior Matt DiMartino (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and junior Nick Lubold (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) each won five games at third and fourth singles respectively before falling in straight sets.

"It was a good match," Torres added.  "It was fun seeing two evenly matched teams play."

The Rider men wrap up the spring 2013 season at Temple on April 22.
