LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University men's tennis fall season came to an end on Sunday with the Broncs losing a non-conference match against Drexel University 6-0.

“It was a very, very windy day but we were out played by a more experienced team,” said head coach Ed Torres.  “The wind didn't seem to bother them like it bothered our players.”

The double matches were cancelled due to windy conditions.

For Rider, senior Sean Sweeney (Franklinville/Delsea Regional) won two games at fourth singles before losing 6-1, 6-1.

“We had a very young team this fall,” Torres said.  “They are taking steps to improve but the only way you really get better is to continue to go out and play and face tough competition.  We are a work in progress.  We lack match experience but will always strive to do our best.”

Rider opens the spring, 2014 season when the Bronc men and women travel to Coppin State on March 6 at 2 p.m.
