Rider's Delia CAA Rookie of the Month

LAWRENCEVILLE-Curt Delia, a freshman 149 pounder on the Rider University wrestling team, was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Month for all competition in November.

Delia (Mullica Hill, NJ/Delsea) began his rookie season 11-3 overall, 3-0 in dual meets.

"Curt is a great kid that works hard and as a result he is off to a great start for us," said Rider associate head coach John Hangey. 

Delia placed third at the Keystone Classic, winning five of six bouts. He also won two bouts at the Binghamton Open to begin his collegiate career.

"Curt is very driven as an athlete and has a very high ceiling when it comes to his potential," Hangey said. "His determination to be a very successful college wrestler is evident in his overall approach to the sport at this level."

Delia defeated wrestlers from Shippensburg, Lock Haven and Princeton in dual meets.

The Rider wrestling team competes December 8 at Rutgers.
