LAWRENCEVILLE--The Rider University women's tennis team ended the 2011 spring season with a loss to Philadelphia University on Friday afternoon in Lawrenceville.

"It was a very close match," said head coach Ed Torres. "It was a battle between two evenly matched teams. It could have gone either way."

For Rider (3-15), freshman Kim Leder (Sicklerville/Timber Creek) won a three-set match at fourth singles with sophomore Alexa Manforti (Toms River/Toms River HS South) winning at fifth singles and sophomore Jaclyn Giameo (Roselle Park) winning at sixth singles.

Leder and Giameo combined for an 8-0 win at third doubles.

Tied at 3-3, the match came down to the third singles match where junior Danielle White (Reading, Pa./Reading) took her match to a third set before losing 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-1.

The Bronc men finish their season on Saturday with a 6pm Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Niagara.
