EASTON, PA – The Rider University women's tennis team won five of six singles flights en route to a 5-2 win at Lafayette in the Broncs' 2025-26 dual opener. With the win, the Broncs improve to 1-0, while the Leopards are now 0-1.
Elle Catanzarite and
Jolie Kaiser combined on a 6-4 win over Marie Sofia Romaniello and Ally Bauer at No. 2 doubles, but the Leopards would win at Nos. 1 and 3 to take the doubles point. But the Broncs bounced back in a big way to take five singles flights and the match.
Claire Brown took a win at No. 1 singles on a retirement, while
Lisa Dierick made quick work of Alyssa Perdomo, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2.
Anna Bong also earned a straight-sets victory over Alexandra Waldman, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 3, while Daniella Naves defeated Bauer, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 6.
Kashish Kant rounded out the victory with a 5-7, 6-4, 10-6, victory at No. 5.
The Broncs return to action Oct. 3-5, when they take part in the MAAC Masters Tournament, hosted by both Fairfield and Quinnipiac.
