Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match
MANASQUAN--In a match moved indoors due to the rainy weather, the Rider University men's tennis team lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match to Fairfield University on Wednesday afternoon at the Atlantic Club in Manasquan, New Jersey.
"We just played a superior team," said head coach Ed Torres. "They are the second best team in the conference right now and they have a win over Harvard which is a quality win for any MAAC school. They just had more experience than we did."
For Rider, senior Rob Olsen (Marlton/Cherokee) won seven games at fifth singles before losing 7-5, 6-2.
"Our guys gave it their all," Torres added. "They just fell short experience wise."
Rider travels to Marist for a MAAC match on Thursday before wrapping up the 2011 season at Niagara on Saturday.
