Rider Completes 2010-11 Roster with Two Signees

LAWRENCEVILLE--Rider University women's basketball head coach Lynn Milligan has announced the signings of two student-athletes to complete the 2010-11 roster.

Aisha Varnadore and Alicia Hall have signed National Letters of Intent to further their education and athletic careers at Rider.

Varnadore is a 5-7 guard and comes to Lawrenceville as a junior after graduating from Burlington County College and after a high school career at Rancocas Valley Regional in South Jersey.

A team captain at both BCC & RV, Varnadore led the BCC Lady Barons to the Region XIX Championships and was named Second Team All-Conference after averaging 15.4 points per game as a sophomore.

"Aisha is a quick smooth perimeter player that has the capability to play the one or two," said Milligan.  "She excels in the open floor and is a multiple threat in the half court.  She comes from a successful and well coached junior college team and is hardworking and determined to bring success to the Rider program."

Hall is a 5-9 guard and comes to Rider from Silver Spring, Maryland where she was a McDonald's All-American Nominee and Second Team All-Gazette honoree at John F. Kennedy High School while being ranked in the top 100 on hoopgirls.com.

"Alicia is a big guard that will be able to play multiple positions for us," Milligan said.  "She can get to the basket as well as shoot the ball.  She has a strong work ethic and is determined to be the best.  She will add great depth to our young core of guards."

Hall averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a senior.

Rider returns nine letterwinners including Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Rookie selection Caitlin Bopp (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame).

The Broncs open the 2010-11 campaign on November 12 at Bucknell before traveling to Penn State on November 14.
