LAWRENCEVILLE-The Broncs lost to the Leopards Saturday. "Lafayette is a very good team," said Rider head coach Ed Torres. "We've played them for a long time, before they were as good as they are now.  Now we play them to help us improve our game."

For Rider junior Rob Olsen (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) was pressed into duty with the injury to junior Chris Esposito (Ocean Grove/Neptune) and was at set point in the second set before losing.  "Olsen did fine," Torres said. "He was ahead 6-5 in the second set. He wants to play."

"We were really understaffed today," Torres said.  "Esposito was injured in the doubles so I had to take him out of singles. Our normal number four singles was also not here due to the holiday. The score of the match probably would not have changed, but it would have been more competitive."

At second singles senior Will Haight (Sewell/Washington Township) won five games.

Rider competes at Delaware State Sunday. "We have a good opportunity to win on Sunday," Torres said.
