PHILADELPHIA, Pa.?The Rider University men's tennis team lost a non-conference match at La Salle Sunday afternoon.  “It was a beautiful day to play,” said head coach Ed Torres.  “We could have won the match but lost some really close matches.”

For the Broncs, sophomore Christopher Esposito (Ocean Grove/Neptune) won his second match in a row, a straight set (6-4, 7-5) win at number four singles.

“Chris is having a very good spring,” Torres said.  “He moved up from the five spot to four in the lineup and has really elevated his game.  We went from third to first doubles and that was an even bigger jump for him.  Overall I would have to say that he is the most improved player on the team from the fall season.  Chris is a very good player at the net and volleys well.”

Also for Rider, senior Casey Jedlinski (Manalapan) won at first singles 6-2, 6-2, his 11th win of the season.

The Rider women travel to La Salle on Monday with the men's team facing Temple Tuesday.
