PHILADELPHIA, PA-Rider defeated La Salle and lost to Delaware in a tri-meet at La Salle Saturday.
For the Rider men, freshman Johnny Funk (Las Vegas, Nev./SE Career and Tech) won the 100 backstroke (52.33), the 100 butterfly (51.58) and the 200 backstroke (1:52.30).
Freshman Brian Molloy (Toms River/Toms River East) won the 200 freestyle (1:45.30) and the 500 free (4:46.15) and senior Paul Apostolakis (Brooklyn, NY/Fort Hamilton) won both the 1-meter (322.25) and the 3-meter (276.90) dives.
For the Rider women, senior Amanda Burke (Churchville, PA/William Tennent) won both the 1-meter (291.8) and the 3-meter (274.30) dives and senior Kellyanne Tomasula (Sussex/Vernon Twp.) won the 200 backstroke (2:06.89), 200 individual medley (2:08.77) and 100 backstroke (57.25).
Junior Brianna Burns (Chestnut Ridge, NY/Spring Valley) won the 200 freestyle (1:54.56) and junior Raquel Riestra (Plainsboro/W.W. P. North) won the 100 freestyle (53.12).
The Rider men and women both defeated La Salle and Delaware last season at Delaware. The Rider men have only defeated Delaware 19 times in 62 meetings, but have defeated La Salle five of the seven meetings. The Rider women have only defeated Delaware three times in 19 meetings and La Salle five times in seven meetings.
The Broncs are now off until the Bucknell Invitational December 4-6.
